Hand Embroidery Service

While machine embroidery has many strengths (speed and repeatability), the art of hand embroidery can have a superior impact in costuming and gift items.

Why choose hand embroidery?

  • Machine embroidery relies heavily on polyester threads for their durability when stitching at high speeds. 100% cotton floss can be used when hand sewing.

  • Hand work has an organic aesthetic that machine embroidery often struggle replicate.

  • Soft and delicate items like cashmere knits or tulle run a higher risk of being damaged during machine embroidery. Hand embroidery allows for precise control of thread tensions.

  • Handwork allows for different types of creative elements - raw edge appliques, texturing, hand painting, etc.

And maybe, you just like my penmanship!

Myth: Machine embroidery is more (or less) expensive than hand embroidery - depending on who you’ve been talking to. But it’s not true!

They are simply completely different crafts. Our pricing structure for these two services are completely independent. Please reach out for a consultation so we may assess your project’s unique needs.
